Health Update Rhizotomy 2026

Thank you to those who have been praying for me / us… Had 2 rhizotomies to the SI joints and a number of facet joint injections yesterday.  The pain after general was intense and my legs kept giving out, however today was easier. I won’t know for another few weeks if it will give any short term relief. So blessed to have a supportive wife & kids as I recover…and the encourage of our gracious God. Interesting day today: during our ‘Jesus Time’ Bible discussion & worship, a few times I found myself thinking about just how difficult life is on a daily basis, pain wise.  I was actually thinking of what life would be like with no pain – and I envisaged being able to dance without any ‘filter’. Emergency Services Training – Sign up!

Tonight, there was a training event for emergency crews in our area. A multi-car accident with multiple fatalities and various injuries was re-created with *six* Ambulances’, multiple Fire & Rescue Trucks and the SES. It was a hive of activity with what seemed like multiple layers of learning, practising, training and supervising going on at the same time. Look what came in the mail! 1961 JW Bible…

I can’t believe how excited I am to receive this Bible today!  We likely have 50+ Bibles in the house (and around a thousand to give to people).  But this one is for me. The reason it’s so amazing & special? Because, unlike all the rest, it is *not* accurate! Yep you read that right!  No matter what translation of the Bible you have and no matter what year, it is likely 99.9% the same as nearly every other Bible out there. I spent some time this morning listening to an elderly man talk about his life.  As he talked about his exploits, mishaps, property sales, business ventures, children’s careers etc – I found myself thinking how long I would need to be here listening and what other ‘more important’ things I needed to do. Is it just me? Another hospital visit.

Today I had to go to the hospital for a follow up scan.  I find myself sitting next to a man who is determined to make conversation. Within 30 seconds, we are discussing Jesus.  Turns out he has Jehovahs witness background and is trying to tell me that Jesus is ‘only’ the Son of God. After talking for a few minutes, he was willing to concede that Jesus is the Creator but adamant that only 144,000 will go to Heaven, while the rest of us will just be on earth.  I take him through the scripture about the parable of …
