And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><\/span><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue-BoldItalic; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>And I asked them what the link was between water and what new topic God was raising &#8211; the Spirit.\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>Here, the effect of the Spirit was the same as the effect of water on parched plants&#8230;\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>Next on to the famous Psalm:\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue-Italic; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue-Italic; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-style: italic; line-height: inherit;\">I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am\u2014so much greater that I\u2019m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><\/span><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue-BoldItalic; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\">And again looking at the link between water and the Spirit in this verse and just a few later when Jesus is baptised&#8230;\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue-Italic; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-style: italic; line-height: inherit;\">After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him.<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><\/span><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue-BoldItalic; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>The probable link here between being baptised in water and the Holy Spirit being around is made much more clear in the next verse we looked at:\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue-Italic; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-style: italic; line-height: inherit;\">Jesus replied, \u201cI assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue-BoldItalic; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"outline: none; there is an undeniable and unbreakable link between water and the Spirit.\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>Lastly we looked briefly at 1 John:\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue-Italic; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-style: italic; line-height: inherit;\">So we have these three witnesses\u2014 the Spirit, the water, and the blood\u2014and all three agree.<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><\/span><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue-BoldItalic; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>We talked quickly about how God continually links His Spirit with water, from the first book of the Bible right to the last\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue-Italic; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-style: italic; line-height: inherit;\">(Rev 22:17\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\">if you need a reference!<\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue-Italic; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-style: italic; line-height: inherit;\">).\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><\/span><\/span><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue; font-size: 14px; outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>And, amazingly, how we had these plants that looked a little like &#8216;parched&#8217; and &#8216;weary&#8217; lands!\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>I let each of the children choose a plant &#8211; they could do anything with it&#8230;choose where to put it, what pot, what soil, what place &#8211; as long as they gave it water.\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>We would check at morning tea time, lunch time and dinner time to see if there was any difference&#8230;\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>Outside we went, to get some pots, mix some manures &amp; soils and water our seedlings.<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>We spend quite a bit of time growing, so this was a &#8216;normal&#8217; enjoyable time mixing our own potting mix (each did their own custom mix of sheep, cow &amp; chicken manure, soil improver, coir, compost &amp; sand), filling pots, mulching &amp; watering. Vibrant, upright, strong and full of life &#8211; a far cry from the shrivelled, dying and wilted seedlings of a few hours earlier!<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>This is the same with us &#8211; without His Spirit we are stunted, wilted, lifeless and dying. But with his Spirit, we quickly become full of life and even life giving.\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/>We will monitor the progress of these &#8216;Spirit Watered&#8217; seedlings and enjoy the &#8216;fruit&#8217; that the Spirit produces in them!\u00a0<br style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box;\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1.25rem; padding: 0px; line-height: 1.6; text-rendering: optimizeLegibility;\"><strong><span style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 14px; line-height: normal; font-family: HelveticaNeue; color: #16181e;\"><span style=\"color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue;\"><span style=\"caret-color: #222222; font-size: 14px;\">Conclusion: we need water and we need The Living Water\u2026every day!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 1.25rem; padding: 0px; line-height: 1.6; text-rendering: optimizeLegibility;\"><span style=\"outline: none; box-sizing: border-box; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;\"><span style=\"color: #16181e; font-family: HelveticaNeue;\"><span><i style=\"caret-color: #222222; font-size: 14px;\">Lord, help us to desire what is good. Help us to come to you and drink deeply of the Water our soul needs. Thank You for paying the price, so that we can drink freely of that which quenches our very soul.
