{"id":931,"date":"2018-11-07T16:43:14","date_gmt":"2018-11-07T07:43:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/203.170.86.202\/wildeden.com.au\/news\/?p=931"},"modified":"2021-09-13T16:45:18","modified_gmt":"2021-09-13T07:45:18","slug":"the-stupid-non-existent-potter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wildeden.com.au\/news\/soul-food\/for-thought\/2018\/the-stupid-non-existent-potter\/","title":{"rendered":"The stupid \/ non existent potter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Does a jar ever say,<br \/>\u201cHe didn\u2019t make me\u201d?<br \/>or<br \/>\u201cThe potter who made me is stupid\u201d?<br \/>Nope &#8211; but that\u2019s exactly what I did&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Convinced there was no \u2018god\u2019 based on the actions of others (if \u2018he\u2019 existed why would \u2018he\u2019 let me suffer) &#8211; I determined to do *whatever* felt good.<\/p>\n<p>Chasing good feelings, fun &#8211; adrenaline &#8211; wild times and being drunk \/ drugged up seemed like the only option and a mostly enjoyable one.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIf it feels good do it &#8211; and do it some more&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Problem was, the more I did \u2018it\u2019 in various and copious forms, the less great it seemed. More and more I needed to do it until \u2018doing it\u2019 drove me. The momentum was impossible to stop as life spiralled down with ever worse consequences.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, this \u2018life\u2019 seemed so painful and futile that I wanted it to end and set off with that goal.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, the God I had ignored, reasoned away and abused was there not wanting to punish and condemn, but waiting to reveal His love and forgiveness! He had been there the whole time protecting, waiting patiently and watering the seed along the way.<\/p>\n<p>Many, many, tiny, abstract and bizarre little times where He was saying \u2018see I\u2019m here\u2019 yet I would ignore and not realise til years later.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>I Am Here<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A blind and arrogant jar, definitely deserving of being smashed, (and close to it) but instead He showered love on me:<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Yes you deserve death &#8211; but I love you\u2019<br \/>\u2018Yes you have done bad over and over &#8211; but I forgive you &#8211; I sent My Son to die for you\u2019<\/p>\n<p>#Amazinggrace!<\/p>\n<p>Wow how my perspective changed &#8211; finally understanding that He gets to decide what I am used &#8211; or destroyed &#8211; for.<\/p>\n<p><em>Lord, ThankYou for Your love and mercy.
