They are only about 1m high, though had three large pods on it that we had been watching. Last year there was a single pod that got eaten by the sheep just before it was ready(!).

We planted the seedlings at about 20cm high. We dug a hole about 1m deep, placed chicken manure, compost and some neem seed husk in the hole. We then have largely left them to do their thing apart from giving them water. They have grown fairly quickly, though will be needing some more attention with some more chicken manure and soil microbes soon.

Each day we walk past them we look to see if they are ready, but this morning, they were GONE –

OH NO! Not again!

Was it the 28’s which have been a huge problem recently? The sheep? The disappointment was short lived – I looked on the floor and saw this the empty pod shell – but there were some kernels. In fact, after a quick scrape of the leaves and sand, we ended up with this:

Wow!! – the pod had simply split when it hit the ground.

We kept looking at the many, many trees, plants, insects etc that God made…

Recently we have been blessed with many Pomegranates and both Tropical and Strawberry Guava.
