Anger is \u2018only’<\/em> a reaction – a secondary \u2018emotion\u2019 – but it can reveal what you worship.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Approval \u2014 If your god is approval, you will be angered by rejection.<\/p>\n

Being Right \u2014 If your god is being right, you will be angered by disagreement.<\/p>\n

Career \u2014 If your god is your career, you will be angered by setbacks.<\/p>\n

Certainty \u2014 If your god is certainty, you will be angered by unanswered questions.<\/p>\n

Children \u2014 If your god is your children, you will be angered when they disappoint you.<\/p>\n

Comfort \u2014 If your god is comfort, you will be angered by inconvenience.<\/p>\n

Control \u2014 If your god is control, you will be angered by change.<\/p>\n

Image \u2014 If your god is your image, you will be angered by embarrassment.<\/p>\n

Independence \u2014 If your god is independence, you will be angered by having to rely on others.<\/p>\n

Ideology \u2014 If your god is ideology, you will be angered by evidence that challenges it.<\/p>\n

Money \u2014 If your god is money, you will be angered by unexpected expense.<\/p>\n

Plans \u2014 If your god is your own plans, you will be angered when they are frustrated.<\/p>\n

Pleasure \u2014 If your god is pleasure, you will be angered by discipline.<\/p>\n

Pleasure \u2014 If your god is pleasure, you will be angered by self-denial.<\/p>\n

Politics \u2014 If your god is politics, you will be angered by inconvenient truths.<\/p>\n

Possessions \u2014 If your god is possessions, you will be angered by loss.<\/p>\n

Power \u2014 If your god is power, you will be angered by weakness or being overruled.<\/p>\n

Pride \u2014 If your god is pride, you will be angered by correction.<\/p>\n

Recognition \u2014 If your god is recognition, you will be angered when others receive the credit.<\/p>\n

Reputation \u2014 If your god is reputation, you will be angered by criticism.<\/p>\n

Rest \u2014 If your god is rest, you will be angered by hardship.<\/p>\n

Schedule \u2014 If your god is your schedule, you will be angered by interruptions.<\/p>\n

Security \u2014 If your god is security, you will be angered by uncertainty.<\/p>\n

Success \u2014 If your god is success, you will be angered by failure.<\/p>\n

Winning \u2014 If your god is winning, you will be angered by losing.<\/p>\n

Our strongest reactions often reveal what we treasure most. Anger isn’t always sinful\u2014Jesus was angry at injustice\u2014but recurring, disproportionate anger can be a helpful indicator that something other than God is on the throne of our hearts.<\/p>\n

If you surrender something to God, if you deal with the why<\/em>, it can no longer anger you.\u00a0
What does anger reveal about you?\u00a0<\/p>\n

And what are you going to do about it?\u00a0<\/p>\n

(I am not pointing fingers in this article, other than at myself. Dealing with issues that cause anger is never easy, often painful but always worth it. Let\u2019s pray for each other as we journey, strive and are refined \/ transformed to be more like Him).\u00a0<\/p>\n
