One of my children has been learning Auslan (Australian sign language) on the side. Today, she was explaining how sign language from country to country is different. So much so that even different states in Australia have different signs for the same word!!\u00a0<\/p>\n
As we discussed how absurd this is we learned that there is One that shares the same symbol across all states (and most countries). Can you guess?\u00a0<\/p>\n
A clue: He is the reason our date is 2023, the reason we have humanitarian aid, healthcare, welfare, freedom of religion and the reason why we have the Christmas season. Yes, Jesus!\u00a0<\/p>\n
The sign? Touching each palm with an opposing finger – indicating the nails that went through His wrists.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This universal sign, points towards a universal Truth: that the Creator & King of the universe, came to earth to be tortured and die for the sins that *we* committed. He has purchased what no person, no religion, ever could: complete forgiveness, eternal security, spiritual adoption! \u00a0<\/p>\n
My prayer this Christmas is that you would not only notice the \u2018Sign\u2019 this Christmas, but that you would experience (more of) His love & understand the \u2018sign\u2019 that He births within those He awakens.\u00a0<\/p>\n
May we all point towards this \u2018Sign\u2019 in everything we do, say and \u2018sign\u2019 to anyone who will listen or watch. Despite all our failures & inability, He desire to rescue those around us.\u00a0<\/p>\n
